Blog Circle – Shooting through Glass | Bucks County Family Photography

This weeks theme for our blog circle was shooting through glass. I have to admit I spent a lot of time on this. I tried many shots with my kids, storefronts, and colored juices in glasses but I ended up very frustrated and with a lot of  uninspired images.

This one made me smile so I went with this one, my daughter walking in from playing outside. Check out Debbie’s work here: http://craftingonthecoast.wordpress.com/2013/05/02/blog-circle/

Debbie van der Schyff - What a beautiful image ….she is gorgeous ….such beautiful catchlights xx

Blog Circle – Perspective | Yardley, PA Family Photography

This month the theme of our blog circle was perspective. What a fun topic, it really forced me to get down low and get up higher. I attempted some forced perspective and some vanishing point perspective, the forced perspective was not easy for me at all! Here is what I came up with. Also check out my fellow blogger, Freda’s post: http://fredamessickphotography.wordpress.com/2013/04/01/different-perspectives/

stacey - Love these perspectives! I love your angle in the first one and beautiful perspective over the piano keys.

Freda - Great perspectives! I love the black and white.

February Blog Circle – Food Photography | Bucks County Family Photographer

This month my blog circle is focusing on food photography. Luckily, I love to eat. The first shot is of the chocolate chip pancakes I make for my kiddos (but usually with more chocolate chips). And the second is a yummy cupcake. Because who doesn’t like a cupcake.

Christi - Those look amazingly yummy.

January Blog Circle Close-Up Portraiture | Bucks County Family Photography

I’m so excited for my first monthly blog-circle post. A fantastic group of photographers are participating in this circle where each month we post a new theme and link our fellow participants.

This month’s  topic was ‘Cose-up Portraiture’. After endless bribes and nagging my kids to stay still, I finally got a shot I liked. In the bath! In our house bath time means no urge to rush, no inclination to do the next thing, and every incentive to be silly and put off  bedtime for as long as possible.

Now, check out Sarah Bauer’s Close-Up from Press Pause Photography http://wp.me/p2HgfA-8h .

stacey - Eek! Those big brown eyes. Gorgeous! This one perfectly suits the month’s theme.

Freda - Great shot!

Debbie van der Schyff - I love those beautiful eyes and creamy skin xx

Vault Brewing Company Yardley, PA | Bucks County Photography

The opportunity to match new and old has been achieved at the newly opened Vault Brewery on South Main Street in Yardley, PA. http://www.vaultbrewing.com.  James and John Cain, brothers and owners, captured the history of the building’s architecture when designing the brewpub originally occupied by The Yardley National Bank.

In-house crafted brews, live jazz music, modern aesthetics, and excellent cooking can all be found here.  They have specialty brews such as Belgium Blonde Ale, Bavarian Hefeweizen, Dunkelweisse, American Stout and Coffee Stout on cask. Their focused menu consists of a selection of wood fired pizzas, tapas plates, and ‘Folds’ including humus, salami & brie, and tomatoes & mozzarella.

The thoughtful layout includes beautifully exposed vats, wrought iron, and a stainless steel bar. The walls display unique artwork including a piece with repurposed old bank checks.  The copper pizza oven, the beer tanks, and the use of a bank vault for wine storage really add to the authentic vibe.

In this no-nonsense brewpub you won’t find utensils, TVs, or rock-n- roll but you will find a strong devotion to finely crafted beer.  Vault Brewery brings something new and different to the Yardley borough, stop by and check it out.
